Police Commissioner Gari Baki has clarified information which he claimed are “misleading information” posted on social media over the promotion that was given to Mr Qi Ming Aixinjueluo as Head of Criminal Investigations Department, in October.
Mr Baki said, ‘’the commissioner is the only sole authority in this organisation that can appoint and revoke and no one has any authority to question that. Unless this matter surfaces in court’’.
He went on to say that the document that was posted on social media was an internal document that belongs to the department of police and is now circulating on social media.
The commissioner said investigators are looking into this matter and said ‘’whoever the source of leaking out the document will be charged and dismissed from the Head Quarters.’’
He further stated, ’’ Mr. Ming is not a member of the Chinese mafia. He is a Papua New Guinea citizen, born and raised in Kundiawa. He joined the police force in 1986 as a reservist and was appointed to the rank of Chief Inspector when the position of OHC Trans National Crime was advertised in 2007.
‘’He is not a raw policeman we just picked out on the street’’. He added, ‘’He was appointed and deployed to our embassy in China because documentations were not in place and he was stranded in China in 2010.
When Mr Baki got appointed back into office in 2015 he brought him back into the country and because of the responsibility he wears he has promoted him to Head the Criminal Investigations Department.
