It has been very peaceful for Bulolo in Morobe Province throughout the festive season with successful police operations conducted to ensure safe celebrations in the district.
Bulolo Police Station Commander Leo Kaikas attributed the peaceful celebrations to funding and logistics provided by Bulolo member Sam Basil.
“Mr. Basil provided the police 6 hire cars,3 drums of diesel and K100, 000 in cash to carry out our operations in the district.”
Kaikas said the people celebrated with activities like attending church services, sports and family gatherings at home which turned out peaceful.
Two escapees were apprehended by police during their festive operations; one from Barawagi Prison in Simbu Province who was on the run since last year and the other from Buimo in Lae. Both have been taken to Buimo.
“Arrangements are still be made to have the escaped inmate from Barawagi to be transported back to his prison camp,” saidKaikas.
Meanwhile, Bulolo Police Station will open its newly renovated cell facility next week. Station Commander Kaikas said the renovation was worth K50, 000 which was made possible by the Morobe Provincial Administration.
“I commend the Provincial Administration for their contributions towards the police to maintain law and order in the district.”
