Air Niugini flights to Wapenamanda Airport in Enga Province will be suspended with effect from 1st October 2019.
The National Airports Corporation (NAC) is closing the airport to allow runway maintenance work to commence. The duration of work will take up to 12 months.
During the period of the closure, all flights will operate to Kagamuga Airport in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province.
Air Niugini operates up to four flights weekly between Port Moresby and Wapenamanda on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday,and up to six flights a day between Port Moresby and Mount Hagen.
Air Niugini regrets the inconvenience caused which is beyond the airline’s control, and appreciates the traveling public’s understanding.
