The Department of Education (DoE) andthe Teaching Service Commission (TSC) have been directed to investigate andfind out who was involved in the process whereby the suspect in Late GraceGavera’s death had four (4) different identification cards and posing as ateacher under different names and file numbers.
“I am directing the Department andTSC to conduct a full investigation while I consider an independent team outsidethe Ministry to also conduct an investigation so that we clean out the mess inour systems and processes.
Immediately, I am directing thedepartment to establish whatever evidence they can find in relation to theidentities as per the four (4) different identification cards that Police foundon the suspect and who was involved in this. Until that evidence is availablewe will inform everyone about what has actually happened.”
“If any member of the public hasany information in relation to cases like this I ask that you take it to thedepartment and inform the Secretary’s office immediately,” the Minister said.
“As the public knows, there waswidespread cheating and problems in the examination system, but under myleadership the department was able to get all these cleaned up. I can assurethe public that I will take the same approach and whatever it takes I will makesure that we clean this mess in the salary section as soon as practical,”Minister Kuman said.
