IBSU under the leadership of Sir Mick Nades continues to be a spearhead in providing quality education as well as giving opportunities to Papua New Guineans to have an education. One way it does this is through its partnership with the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC). This includes supporting events such as the annual Trukai Fun Run.

Ms. Rebecca Paira representing IBS said IBS believes in the development of Papua New Guinea’s human resource and their contribution to this is by providing quality education to its people.

“This country can be a leading economy in the world if its human resource can be developed, and IBS is trying to be part of that journey by taking the knowledge base into the next level,” he said.

Ms. Rebecca Paira congratulated the winners and encouraged them to take the opportunity and make the best of it.  Also on behalf of IBS and IBS College of TVET she conveyed her thanks to the organisers.

Trukai Industries representative, Koipage Lonagata thanked the winners for participating in the fun run and the IBSU draw and encouraged others to also submit their forms in the next fun run event.

While the Trukai Fun Run is an enjoyable way for everyone to participate together in a large healthy and safe atmosphere while also showing their support for Team PNG, it also provides opportunities for participants to win prizes such as the scholarships from IBSU.

PNG Olympic Committee Corporate Manager, Ian Leklek acknowledged Trukai and IBSU for their support of the Fun Run and Team PNG.

He also encouraged more people to be part of the Trukai Fun Run and enter the IBSU drawf or an opportunity to get a high quality education in the country.

IBS also provides scholarship for PNG’s elite athletes through the Athletes Excellence Program in partnership with PNGOC. Interested athletes can see the team at PNGOC for more information.

“We are grateful for the support IBSU has given over the years which has contributed to the development of our elite sports men and women and also the community by offering scholarships and academic programs for the people,” Leklek said.
