A man was stabbed multiple times in Hohola two on Saturday and died later when rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital.
The Hohola two community and eyewitnesses said the man is known to be from Gulf origin was walking back home when he was approached by a drunkard and was stabbed with reasons unknown.
However, Hohola Police Commander Ben Kua upon confirming the incident said both the suspect and victim were under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred following an argument.
Commander Kua said the victim is in hiding whilst his family have fled their home since Saturday in fear of retaliation from the victim’s family.
Police are still waiting to speak with relatives of the suspect since the day of the incident and awaits for the relatives to come forward with any information with regards to the suspect.
Commander Kua urged the victim’s family not to retaliate and let police do their job.
