NGI NSL BOOTS OFF THIS WEEKEND

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Ltd National Soccer League will be launching the kick off of New Guinea Islands NSL competition this weekend on Sunday.

It will be hosted at the Sasindran Muthuvel Stadium in Kimbe West New Britain Province.

President for NSL John Kapi-Natto said he is happy to see the new-look league actually progressing well in all regions and NGI is the last region to kick off its competition.

‘’It is PNG Football Associations vision to take the elite football competition to the four regions of our country and seeing it happening right now, we are very excited about it. I know Kimbe is a soccer-mad town and all fans are looking forward to it so please come along on Sunday for the opening ceremony which followed by a double header.’’ said Mr Kapi- Natto.

KPHL- NSL officially announced the kick off of NGI conference this week in Port Moresby.

Despite being the first time for NGI to take part in the National Soccer League, there’s already been an interesting number of clubs wanting to join the league.

However, NSL president John Kapi-Natto said only 5 clubs will participate this year and they expect more to join from other NGI provinces. The 5 clubs include two teams from ENB, two from WNB and one from AROB.

President Kapi-Natto and the Sports Vice Minister Wesley Raminai will be on ground to officiate the event on the weekend.

Meanwhile the Northern, Southern and Highlands conferences have already kicked off their rounds and are already in the third and fourth rounds.
