P&C ASSOCIATION AGAINST SUSPENSION OF PRINCIPALS

"The suspension has had a negative impact on these professionals’ academic programs and the infrastructure development of their schools and hence calling for their reinstatement as soon as practical."

The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) in the National Capital District are against the suspension of ten secondary school principals who were verbally suspended by the Department of Education for non-compliance.

The principals were charged by education inspectors for allegedly collecting unreasonable levels of fees and unethically denying students their rights to be educated.

A statement from the Education Minister Nick Kuman said schools that were charging fees as a condition for enrollment had defied lawful instructions from the department not to charge any form of fees.

"P&C Chairman Maru Bala said the suspension has had a negative impact on these professionals’ academic programs and the infrastructure development of their schools and hence calling for their reinstatement as soon as practical."
