SOLDIER ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL TOUCHING

"The victim’s father alleged that the suspect was drunk and entered their house and sexually touched her daughter’s buttocks without her consent."

A PNG Defense Force soldier based at HMPNGS Tarangau Naval Base at Lombrum was arrested and charged by police for sexual touching.

Manus Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector David Yapu said the soldier Gabriel Kaulo 26 years of age from Kilip village, North Waghi District, Jiwaka Province was charged by Police following a complaint from the victim’s father (a Soldier).

 PPC Yapu said the victim’s father alleged that the suspect was drunk and entered their house and sexually touched her daughter’s buttocks without her consent.

 PPC Yapu said the victim is a minor doing her grade 4 at the Lombrum Primary School.The incident occurred on Thursday 17th January at the bush house at Lombrum in the Los Negros LLG Lorengau.  

 PPC Yapu said the suspect had appeared in Lorengau District court on Tuesday 29th for mention.

 “No one is above the law, whether you’re a Policeman or Soldier, the rule of law applies to everyone“, stressed Chief Inspector Yapu.
