"The soldier was charged by police after a complaint from the victim’s father (a soldier) for allegedly entering their house while under the influence of alcohol and sexually touched his daughter without her consent."

A PNGDF soldier slapped with a charge for sexually touching a minor in Manus last month will appear at the Lorengau District Court next week after an adjournment.

"The soldier was charged by police after a complaint from the victim’s father (a soldier) for allegedly entering their house while under the influence of alcohol and sexually touched his daughter without her consent."

Manus Police boss Chief Inspector David Yapu said the incident occurred on 17th January at their home at Lombrum in the Los Negros LLG, Lorengau.

PPC Yapu said the victim’s father alleged that the suspect was drunk and entered their house and sexually touched her daughter’s buttocks without her consent.

Yapu said the suspect is in custody awaiting his mention next week Friday.
