"A standout issue with the addition of the upper primary students is infrastructure."

Three Secondary Schools in the Nations Capital begun enrollment for upper primary students from feeder primary schools this week.

These pilot secondary schools are Badihagwa, Kilakila and Tokarara Secondary schools.  

Kilakila Secondary school was one of the schools to enroll upper primary students from feeder school Kilakila Primary school.

Kilakila Secondary School Deputy Principle Philemon Geidilo said enrollment of these students is ongoing with 150 students expected to be enrolled for both grades 7’s and 8’sin the coming week.

Mr. Geidilo stressed that a standout issue with the addition of these two grades is infrastructure.

“With the increase in student populous more classrooms must be built, infrastructure musttake place to cater for these students,” stressed Geidilo.

He said with the increase in enrollment for these two grades, the need to fit these students is a worry as the current classrooms cannot cater for all grades.  

“Our last resort would be to put up a tent and teach this new intakes in tents if classrooms are not enough”, said Mr. Geidilo.
