YOUNG LEOSHINA KARIHA CROWNED MISS PNG 2018

"Leoshina is the youngest of all contestants performing exceptionally well with confidence in all dress categories lending herself as Miss PNG 2018."

Leoshina Kariha 18 from Madang was crowned Miss PNG 2018 lastnight on the 8th Crowning Ball in Port Moresby.  

Leoshina is the youngest of all contestants however performed exceptionally well with confidence in all dress categories lending herself as Miss PNG 2018.

The young lass is of a mix parentage of Bougainville and central province and is a first year Bachelor of Arts and PNG studies student in Divine Word University.

Her passion for tourism was all evident on the stage as she proudly portrayed her beautiful province Madang through her costumes in the different categories.

‘’ I am passionate about serving people and spreading love with women and youth and reviving tourism.

I believe It’s never too early or too late to change the life of another ’’, said Miss Kariha.

The gently mounded Bilbil clay pot , the delicately weaved Madang Bilum- this ship cruises across the Madang sea and is owned by non other then the Madang Resort was how young  Leoshina Kariha introduced herself  describing her beautiful province and  proud sponsor on stage.

This line in itself describes not only her passion for tourism but how patriotic she is as a Papua New Guinean.

She stole the show despite being the youngest as she gracefully walked up the stage with that smile the audience couldn’t get off and was crowned Miss PNG 2018.

Miss Kariha said she is grateful for the opportunity and now  looks forward for anew journey.

Meanwhile, outgoing Miss PNG 2017 Niawali Twain gave a remarkable speech during the night thanking everyone who contributed towards making her journey a success.

She said the 12 months of her journey has been challenging yet a very rewarding experience.

‘’One thing so profound in the Journey that I have learnt is growth’’, said Miss Twain.

‘’ Growing requires much sacrifice and it depends on how one is willing to allow themself to grow”

She encourages the upcoming Miss PNG and other contestants to chase every opportunity and make it big saying it will cost you but it’s worth it in the end.
